Dress Rehearsal
Friday June 6
Mandatory for ALL DANCERS
We follow a different program for dress rehearsal than we do the real show. This is so our youngest dancers do not need to be at rehearsal for the entire length of time. HOWEVER: for the real show in the evening, ALL DANCERS MUST STAY UNTIL THE END FOR GRAN FINALE
Schedule
- 4:00p – Arrival Time/Stretch
- Find your assigned dressing rooms and arrange your costumes/supplies.
- 4:30p – Gran Finale (all dancers)
- 5:30p – Predance Classes
- 6:30p – Loved Ones Routine
- 6:30p – 9:00p or until finished – Remaining Show Order
- All dancers EXCEPT Predance (Wednesday combination classes), Loved Ones parents.
- Predance classes will be released after their routines are complete.
- While we will do our absolute best to stay on track, we may go a little over or under estimated times at dress rehearsal, so please be patient and understanding as we go through making sure our stage lighting, music, etc. are all set and ready for our shows!
Some Tips/Hints/Additional details
- Arrive PROMPTLY so that you have time to park, find the entrance, and be ENTERING the building at 4pm. You will need time to find your dressing room and get into your first costume BEFORE 4:30.
- Dancers will need to look exactly the same as they will for the real shows!
- Hair/Makeup/Costuming at show level. Make sure you correct anything that was mentioned during picture days, please!
- NO jewelry/colored or fake nails!
- This includes earrings (even small studs), bracelets, necklaces, anklets, etc.
- If you have permanent jewelry, please take it off BEFORE the recital. Usually, you can remove it with a quick snip at the weld using scissors and then reattach it after the recital. Technically, dancers should NOT ever have bracelets or necklaces in class as it poses a safety risk.
- You may see some of our team dancers wearing matching accessories/earrings that are a part of their competition costumes. This is a part of their overall costuming so is the only exception to this rule.
- This includes earrings (even small studs), bracelets, necklaces, anklets, etc.
- Triple check ALL costume pieces/tights/shoes the night before at home. Pack your recital bag and have all costumes hung in garment bags with all parts individually labeled.
- Dancers will need a parent or guardian of the same gender to be in the dressing room to help dancer with their costume changes.
- NO other family members need to be present at dress rehearsal.
- Only dancers and main parent in charge of dancer/costume changes
- Once we arrive and get everything set to begin rehearsal, procedures for the show will be discussed. Please be ready to stay quiet and attentive during rehearsal to learn what to do for the show to run smoothly!
- Please wait for your groups’ dismissal before leaving rehearsal!
- Dress rehearsal is when you MAY take personal photos and videos of your dancer onstage!
- Bring your best cameras! NO FLASH! And do not post any videos onto social media!
- YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE PHOTOS OR VIDEOS DURING THE REAL SHOW
- To prepare for this long rehearsal, make sure to fuel yourself and your dancer with nutritious food.THERE IS NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN THIS THEATRE OR DRESSING ROOMS. WE will need to consume all food and beverages outside. Remember, no food or drinks are allowed near costumes or in the dressing rooms!
