Recreational Classes

We offer combination recreational classes in a variety of dance styles including ballet, jazz, tap, hiphop, lyrical and contemporary for our beginner/intermediate-level dancers. These classes consist of a combination ballet/jazz/lyrical class and a combination tap/hiphop class for our dancers aged 6+ and combination ballet/tap/tumble classes for our dancers aged 3-5 (and fully potty-trained).

Our regular dance season follows the general school calendar. Classes start in mid-August and run to the end of May, culminating in a 2-day recital showcase in June.

ALL-INCLUSIVE FEES

monthly fee covers:

  • monthly class tuition
  • performance fees
    • recital costumes for each style
    • recital routines in each style
    • two included tickets to each recital show (more can be purchased)
    • souvenir recital t-shirt
    • studio yearbook with class photos
    • professional videos and photos of recital

Understanding Your Tuition Fees
Your tuition is all-inclusive and is an annual fee split over ten monthly payments running from August to May. Those who choose can pay the entire season in advance for a discounted price, or may choose to pay monthly or bi-weekly. Those who register later in the season will have their costs split evenly to have their payments completed in May, regardless of start date.

ALL of our recreational classes will perform in BOTH of our recital showcases at the beginning of June, and will need to attend all mandatory studio rehearsals, the mandatory dress rehearsal, and BOTH mandatory recitals.

Class Structure

Our classes follow a general structure as follows:

  • Dancers arrive no more than 10 minutes before class starts, ready to go – they can put on their dance shoes once they arrive in the waiting room (no dance shoes to be worn outside, please!).
    • Ballet/Tap/Tumble ages 3-5 start in tap shoes and will switch to their ballet shoes in the classroom
    • Ballet/Jazz/Lyrical will start in Ballet Shoes and will switch to dance paws/jazz shoes in the classroom.
    • Tap/HipHop will start with Tap and switch to HipHop in the classroom.
  • Teacher will come out once ready to start class, and dancers will go in along with their dance bag.
  • Once class is over, dancers will be released to their parents and will go over any important info with parents at that time.
  • We welcome parents to watch the class on our live stream cameras in the app!

Dress Code

We will adhere to the dress codes for Friday and PreDance classes during our summer sessions. If you plan to enroll for the fall semester, please ensure you purchase the appropriate shoes based on your anticipated fall classes.

We have specific shoe requirements for classes, which are a particular brand, style, and color. Please carefully review the requirements and purchase only the necessary footwear. While the dress code at the recreational level is quite relaxed, we kindly request that you wear actual dancewear or athletic wear, rather than casual street clothes. For most classes, it’s best to pull your hair back and up to keep it out of your face. For recital, all dancers will have a specific hair style, usually a low bun with a center part.
